So today I put the frozen dinner in the crock pot at 8 am on low
and it was done by 2:00pm (my daughter turned it off before I got home
because she saw that it was done and said it had heated the entire kitchen!)
Cheesy Crock Pot Potato Meal
6 – 8 slices of Ham cut into pieces
8 medium potatoes, sliced with the skins on
2 medium onions, thinly sliced
1 cup grated sharp cheddar cheese
1 can of Cream of Mushroom Soup
Pepper and Paprika to taste
1 can of Corn (or bag of frozen)
Add all ingredients and stir.
Put into a freezer bag and freeze.
When ready to cook…thaw overnight in the refrigerator.
Put into crock pot on low with 2 cups of water. Stir.
6 hours on low or 4 hours on high.
I have to say that for dinner my family is used to a main course of meat,
a carbohydrate side dish and a vegetable.
This whole casserole thing is very different for them in many ways including
the fact that casseroles just look plain old GROSS. Not lying…the last two
nights it looked like I was serving vomit.
Everything looks so pretty on a plate when separated into their individual categories.
All mixed up together is what is supposed to happen to food in your stomach…
not served like that straight away…but convenience and lack of
money leave us in the beggars rather than choosers category. Humph! Grumble!
Aside from aesthetics….was this meal a Success or Failure??
