I am in my student teaching class room
observing and volunteering.
I am taking 3 graduate school courses,
working part time at a retail chain,
and fitting in my dapperhouse endeavors.
Oh yea, then there is the children, carpool, husband,
house, dog, meals….sleep, shower & eat.
Overwhelmed? Yes. I am.
So, I thought that I would take a day (or two) and meal plan
some freezer dinners that I can toss in the crock pot when I
leave in the mornings.
I chose from based on reader recommendations.
Then I made a master grocery list, crossed off the ingredients
I already had, and went shopping.
I did NOT use coupons because I am not in the habit of figuring
out the crazy good coupon deals. (real tears of jealousy)
And, I was in a hurry and on a mission but I did use sales and specials.
I went to a few different stores for lower prices on different items.
(these pictures dont show everything I purchased including the fresh food and veggies)
I spent around $250.00 for the meals and I spent a literal entire day
preparing the food to freeze. I ended up with 14 frozen entree meals.
And a very messy kitchen…
This is what I made from the Frugal Family blogsite…
- Crock Pot Swedish Meatballs
- Pepperoncini Roast Beef Sandwiches
- Bean Soup
- Potato Tacos
- Crock Pot Pizza (2) (I cut SO many potatoes and onions…
but the crying wasn not from my burning eyes….
I just really hate cooking.)
- Sweet and Sour Sausage
- Slow Cooker Orange and Rosemary Chicken (2)
- Cheesy Crock Pot Potato Meal (2)
- Shipwreck Casserole w/ cream of mushroom soup
- Shipwreck Casseerole w/ Rotel and tomato sauce
- Holiday Brunch Casserole ( 2 – no mushrooms, one with ham & one with bacon)
Now we will see how my family likes or dislikes these new recipes!
If I can remember to take them out of the freezer at night to thaw a little
before putting them into the crock pot in the morning it will surely be a miracle.
Wish me Luck.
I will let you know what my family thinks of the recipes as we try them!
Hopefully most of them will be worth making again!

Wow this is so cool! Good for you for doing that! It looks like a ton of work. Do you feel like it was worth it? Every time I stay up late making a ton of food for a party or a holiday I think I should do this regularly for our home… I can’t believe you did all that work!
