Making your pug feel like a king is the dream of many owners. You want your pup to be the lord of the land.

But how can you do this?

Well, thanks to modern products, it is far easier than you might think. Here’s what you need to know:

Shower With Praise

The first step is perhaps the easiest — shower your pug with praise. Let your dog know that they are the most special being in your life and part of the family.

You could even call him “your majesty” if you wanted. This sort of praise boosts your pug’s confidence and cements his status in the group.

Plan Trendy Outings

You also want to plan trendy outings with your pug. Taking them to dog-friendly locations gives them the space they need to play and meet with other dogs.

Pugs don’t usually require much walking because of their breathing needs, so you can keep this to a minimum. But they do like to be outside and around other dogs, playing and having fun.

Provide Them With A Gift

Getting your dog a Pug Box is another idea for treating them like a king. These goodie hampers contain everything they need to stay happy, including treats loved by the breed, soft toys, and other items. Getting these for them on a rolling basis means they always have something to look forward to.

Pamper Them With A Warm Bed

You could also look into pampering your pug by providing them with a warm bed. As a breed, these dogs love feeling comfortable, so investing in their sleeping arrangements always makes sense.

Warmed and heated beds are particularly helpful on winter nights. These provide extra heating so your dog doesn’t spend time shivering because they can’t get warm.

Dress Your Pug

If you want your pug to look even more royal, then dressing them up is another option. Putting on their Sunday best every day brings out their character.

Obviously, if you do this, you want to prevent your dog from feeling restricted. Therefore, provide them with dog-specific, loose clothing that won’t make them feel like they want to take it off.

Provide Gourmet Food

Of course, if you really want your pug to feel special, you can provide gourmet food. Numerous brands now provide this, so it isn’t as hard to find as it used to be.

Gourmet treats often have special recipes that dogs love, like chicken or salmon dishes. These wet food options are filling and made specifically for dogs’ taste buds.

Be careful, though, that you don’t give them anything that might be toxic, like grapes or chocolate. Stick to the basics.

Provide Extra Play Time

Finally, if your pug has a spurt of energy, provide them with extra play time. Make sure you get involved yourself if there aren’t any other dogs around.

Short sessions are usually best for pugs. Most dogs in this breed like to play for 10 or 15 minutes and then go for a rest on the dog bed.
