I wanted some holiday swag to decorate my home and luckily I have everything I need at or near my home! Here is an easy tutorial on how to make beautiful Holiday Swag Home Decor for Cheap! You will need to purchase ribbon for the bows (the kind with wire in the edges is great), and floral wire. Many dollar stores have these items so check there before going to the craft store. You can look around in nature or your neighborhood find pine trees and bushes to cut some branches, some dead twigs and a few pine cones. Or go to a place selling Christmas trees and ask if you can collect the branches that have been trimmed or fallen from the tress.

My mother in law helped me with this fun project while she was here visiting. So here we go.
I went to my backyard to find dead twigs and fresh pine.

I cut the twigs approximately 2 feet long.

I cut the pine from 12 inches to 16 inches long making sure that they were full and long.

Then I arranged some facing up and some facing down. I left only a small space in the middle where the bow would go. I put the dead twigs on the back and the pine in front.

Bind and secure everything tightly by wrapping and twisting the floral wire around the center of the branches.

Make a bow . . .

and secure it with floral wire to the center of the swag.

Leave extra wire to secure the swag to your railings, or create a small loop to hang it from a hook or nail.
Use floral wire to secure pine cones to the branches if desires. I made one as a gift for a friend using red berries that looked really nice too with a splash of color.

Gorgeous, festive and practically free!

I made this centerpiece the same way as well. . .

with nature from the yard and two flame-less candles that I already had.

And I didnt have to secure as much because it is laying flat!

There are many variations of this FUN & Easy project.

If you have any questions about this tutorial I would be happy to answer them in the comment section!
