I have been so busy and not making much money for some time now. Like many mothers, any extra money I get goes right to the needs of my children and never to frivolities for myself. For a year I have been using a box color on my hair that of course turns brassy and leaves my hair dry. Then I only get a haircut every 6 months because a haircut for me is $40 and both my boys get a haircut every 6 weeks for that price. Well, I have been working lately as a part time substitute and although I am making next to nothing compared to many, it is a lot for our family. I am excited to have money for Christmas and groceries (a HUGE load off my mommy mind). I am also excited because today was the day that I spent money on ME and got a long overdue and much needed hair do. (Look here, I was talking about this in MAY for Pete’s sake) At 41 years old I had to get rid of the box color blonde and go back to my roots. . . no, really, the stylist matched the dark ash blonde in my grown out roots and gave me an all over color with highlights on top! I am so happy and love the new look. The haircut is incredible too! After shedding 4 or more inches of dead ends my hair feels and looks so pretty. (if I do say so myself) 🙂

Here is my before:

Then I went to My Salon Too and had the famous “RO” give me a transformation.

First she mixed the Ashy Dark Blonde. . .
And then the bleach for the highlights. . .

She started foiling in the dark with some tiny sliver of white highlights here and there (you can see where I grew out my roots for her to match my natural color)

This takes awhile because you cant rush perfection.

While we are waiting for my color to process we played with her ipad and she used an app to
show me what I will look like when I get older…(somebody get the Botox quick) So funny!

She took out all the foils, toned the highlights and began the long process of blow drying.
Ro LOVES doing hair and said she especially likes round brushing! I thought that my arms would really get tired if I tried to do that!
Still drying and making it shine!

Here is the AFTER pic with a new cut and color!

I took one in the sunlight when I got home to show that the brassiness is gone! Hooray, a more natural look.

Oh look, its me again. (tee hee) in this picture you can see more of the dark underneath!

Oh I LOVE IT! The highlights and lowlights are so pretty.
The cut is very stylish (I hardly recognize my own hair without 4 inches of wispy split ends)
It is exactly what I wanted.
(Thanks Ro)
