I have to admit that for any guy, this car brings back classic memories of summers racing go-carts with my friends at a local track after an intense game of putt-putt. The experience of feeling powerful, unstoppable and most of all fast – is indescribable! This car has a coolness factor that is undeniable as heads turn in your direction everywhere you go. It is a sleek beautiful car with an incredible design. Driving the 2017 MX-5 Mazda Miata Grand Touring MT for a week was an awesome experience all around.

The Miata is not an everyday car by all means, but perfect for driving back and forth to work, the train, small errands and enjoying the weather anytime of day or night. It is perfect for joyriding, feeling the wind in your face and feeling the power of all 6 speeds at your fingertips. It has a manual transmission with a short throw shifter and a leather shift knob.
The whole family took turns trying out the Mazda Miata MX-5 because it is vastly different than the family vehicles we have always owned.
My wife got to drive the Miata the first day while it was still nice outside.
This one sits relatively low and its gives you a great sense of the road while you look forward to the next corner to hug with dynamic force. It shifted gears fluidly and hummed with exciting energy.
My son drives a manual transmission so he got to drive the Miata too, making sure to sync the hands free bluetooth in the car with the music on his phone.
The color is not white or grey but a perfect mix called Ceramic Metallic. It also comes in Meteor Gray and Crystal White Pearl, but this color is really cool and gives it a more unique personality.
While I was test driving the car, it was not your typical day for a convertible. The sun was out but it was about 50 Fahrenheit. Needless to say, with the top down and the windows up I was able to enjoy the last warm days of the year. Other days it was bitter cold and raining so I utilized the seat warmers and the rain sensing windshield wipers. Then there was the night driving that was equally as cool.
As far a safety goes, the bind spot monitoring that appears in the side mirrors was very helpful. The fact that it speeds up and stops on a dime makes avoiding accident more efficient. The auto cruise control and bluetooth help to keep your eyes on the road and the navigation helps you get where you are going. The touch screen display for the stereo and other car functions is in line with the latest technology.
Do you like music when you are driving? I’m sure that you will appreciate the BOSE audio system with nine speakers as much as me.
Some of the other features that made this car cool were definitely the LED headlights, all leather cockpit, ease of use with the softtop and the way it made me feel when I was driving.
Owning a car like this takes you back to the days of the 1960’s when the vintage roadsters were the cars to own and to be seen in.
