DIY Winter Themed Soup Can Planters

DIY projects are a fun way to have fun and stay warm inside during the cold winter months. These soup can planters make great gifts  for teachers, hostesses, friends and neighbors too.

Supplies:

  • two clean, empty soup cans
  • blue craft paper
  • white glitter tissue wrap paper
  • two snowflake stickers
  • white ribbon
  • scissors
  • glue gun

How to Make:

Step 1. Measure the white tissue paper to fit around the soup cans and cut these out making sure to leave about 1/4 inch of overhang to secure with the glue. They should be about 2 1/2 inches tall. (You want to have about 1/2 – 1  inch of the can showing above and below the tissue.)

Step 2. Glue the papers to the soup cans.

Step 3. Measure the blue paper so that it wraps around the cans with enough length to secure in the back with glue. These should be about 2 1/4 inches tall.

Step 4. Use a glue gun to secure a piece of ribbon to the center of each of the blue papers.

Step 5. add the snowflake stickers to the ribbon on the front of the cans.

Step 6. Fill the soup can planters with floral foam or dirt. (Be careful when filling the  ans so that you don’t get your paper dirty.)

Step 7. Add the small plants to the planters!
