Chair up-do using Annie Sloan Chalk Paint.
Color: Versailles.
by: dapperhouse
This chair is OLD.
It has many layers of paint from it’s loving
owners over the years.
The paint is chippy and crackled from age.
There were quite a few fabrics on the seat.
Best news ever? It was painted a Gorgeous Turquoise Color
that made me feel Dreamy and Lucky!
I knew when I opened the can of Versailles paint that the light
greenish color would be a perfect pairing for this chair.
I painted precision and planned brushstrokes,
then wiped some off, then sanded a bit.
The most wonderful effect was achieved by sanding
some of the chippy areas…
The paint came through in layers
revealing a bright white edge in the wood and colors.
I am SO proud of how this chair looks.
The most fun was using a this edge tool to flake off the
chippy paint to get the most beautiful distressed look
from this authentic piece!
I covered the chair seat with a near white colored canvas.
love.

This looks so cool! I have a new set of these paints waiting for school to start – and something other than over 100 degr weather! I can’t wait to get going with my project!
Thank you for sharing!

Hey, question… the ad at the top of your blog – is that specific to who clicks on your blog or are you from IL? Just curious. It was a community college close to where I live.
Anyway, Hi 🙂
I was actually dropping in to invite you to come over to We Have It All
and enter my giveaway. I have a mom/family package that I am giving away and it’s over tomorrow night.
Hope you’re having a fantastic weekend!
