The look for red lips in winter has been a deep red, the trend being a darker, deeper and more of a purple hue. Now with spring right around the corner it is time to update your red lips to a color that transitions you to spring. One that works with the new season’s hottest colors in fashion.
The snow is melting and the flowers are pushing up from the ground to make themselves known! Trends in Spring 2014 are taking their inspiration from fresh floral oranges, bright and bold. One of my favorite cosmetic companies is Melt Cosmetics. Their orange Matte Lipstick in the color Bang Bang is the perfect example of this!
If your style is more classic and less bold, there are many beautiful spring oranges for you to choose from. Instead of going with the high pigment matte lip, you can choose a more subtle orange lip gloss for a light touch of color. If you tend to wear neutral colors, you can think of your orange as a pop that will accent to your overall look as seen in this pic from JCrew.
I like this Fior Mineral Cosmetics All Natural Vegan Gloss in Orange Crush.
Take some inspiration from Mother Nature’s palette of oranges and get the newest look for Spring lips!

Very pretty color. I am more of a nude lipstick fan but I really like the idea of a bold lip!
Ellen Christian
I tend to pick the softer colors. I need to try a bold red soon.

I’ve never been brave enough to wear red, but it’s good to know it spans seasons!
Liz Mays
I absolutely love orange, but it looks like crap on me. However, I still carry orange accessories! I’ll tell my daughter to try an orange lip. She might be able to pull it off.

BANG BANG is a super cute color. I started wearing more bolds in the winter and got lots of compliments!
Pam
I like coral lipstick but have never been bold enough to try orange! I think I will just try orange accessories!

I can’t wear red or orange, I am more of a mauve kind of gal year round. Looks great on you though.
Janel
I’ve never tried bold red lips. I like the spring coloring better, it’s more me.

As much as I like the look of lipstick, I never have any luck with it. I always end up feeling like it dries my lips out. Someday, I’ll find a brand that I love and I’ll wear it every day. Someday… 🙂

That’s a gorgeous color. I don’t know if it’d go with my skin tone. I do like my reds year round though.

I do not not the skin type to wear red, I like the spring color – those are the types of colors I wear all year long.
Melissa
I wish I could wear red lipstick. I think it looks great on people. I just can’t pull it off.

I love the bright bold oranges but I usually just wear more subtle colors everyday. I like that vegan gloss you featured. That would be something I’d wear all the time.
Sarah @ Must Have Mom
I tend to wear more muted shades. I like the orange crush for Spring!

Greta
I don’t think I can pull off an orange lip. I do love bright colors of makeup, though

Very pretty color and perfect for spring… I hardly ever wear lipstick. Soo need to check this out and maybe spruce myself up a little 🙂

The orange looks wonderful on the models! I’m not sure if it would look as good on me, though.

I can only seem to bring myself to wear a more neutral gloss. Wish I could be this bold! PRETTY!
Lori E
I have tried a bold red color once and it just didn’t work with my complexion. I am trying to get bolder in my color choices but I usually play it safe and stick to soft tones.
Nancy Loring
I have just started using bolder lipstick. Thanks for the tips.
Shannon
What lovely lipsticks. I am not sure that I could pull this off though.
