Give Boring Books a Cool Makeover with Bookmarks to Match
In high school and college you want to keep books nice so that you can sell them back once the class is over, but there are many books that have very little value once you buy them. This ACT study guide for example, won’t be sold anywhere but can be passed on to family and friends after we are done using it. So, instead of carrying a boring book around, why not give it a makeover with fun prints and designs that make it uniquely yours! As aa bonus, you can make matching book marks that match! Here’s how to give your boring books a cool makeover.
Supplies:
- Coordinating 12” x 12” scrapbook papers and matching embellishments
- Scissors
- Glue gun
- Large craft sticks
Instructions:
Step 1. Pick out two pieces of scrapbook that will be the new cover of the book.
Step 2. Take the paper and fold it around the book leaving at least an inch on the inside of the front and back covers.
Step 3. Cut the paper to fit the book.
Step 4. Use the glue gun to secure the paper to the covers and spine of the book. It is best to start with one side and work your way around the edges so that the paper stays straight.
Step 5. Use coordinating scrapbook papers and embellishments to decorate the covers of the book. Secure these with the glue gun.
Step 6. Use more coordinating scrapbook papers and glue to cover the top ¾ of at least four craft sticks.
Step 7. Enjoy your book with a cool, new makeover and bookmarks to match!
