Get Ready! JUNE 7th is NATIONAL CHOCOLATE ICE CREAM DAY!
My son LOVES ice cream, frozen yogurt, gelato . . .(you get the picture). So when he had some extra money saved up, he purchased his own ice cream  maker! I thought it was a good idea because he could be creative with recipes (educational and FUN) He could learn about nutrition and test out some made with fruits and veggies along with low fat and low sugar options. He could foster his love of working with food and perhaps even create his own ice cream flavor!! I will say that there has been many treats come from this $25 purchase and I recommend it as a fun experience for families to spend time together before, during and after making the ice cream. So, For National Chocolate Ice Cream  Day I am going to give you a well known, tried and true recipe that requires very little work and few ingredients for an easy peasy treat!

1.) Combine in the mixing Bowl: milk, sugar, pudding mix and whipping cream. Whisk or Whip these ingredients together.

2.) Cover the bowl and let ingredients sit for 2 hours.

3.) Take out the bowl, mix ingredients again and pour into ice cream maker

4.) Run the ice cream maker for about 20 minutes until it is thickened and frozen.

5.) You can eat it right then as soft serve, or freeze it in a container for a couple of hours until very firm.

This is not a FAST recipe with the wait times, but definitely easy to make.

ENJOY!
