Children love to create, explore science and they love to play. This activity meets all those needs. You can do this at home to spend quality time with your children in under 30 minutes. You can use it for your classroom and it provides something fun to take home and share with parents! This slime is low cost, easy to make with the kids and lots of fun!!
Here is what you need:
- liquid starch
- clear school glue
- themed confetti
- water
- mixing bowl
My son makes this at home for fun a lot because it is fast and fun.
Here is his demonstration on how to make it at your home or school.
In the bowl combine approx. 1 – 5 oz. container of school glue and 1/3 cup of water. mix together with a spoon or hands. Mix in the confetti. Then mix in 1/2 cup of liquid starch. This mixture will turn into a thick, oozy slime. You can add a little more or less water.
Now have fun playing and experimenting with the texture! It can be played with so many ways!
You should double or triple the recipe for a classroom of more than ten children. You could move the kids into small groups and let them each make a smaller batch together!

Things like this are such a great way to get kids’ minds active and engaged. I can’t wait to try this with the kids.

That is so cool! I always wondered how slime was made. Definitely looks like fun.

This is so clever! I’m remembering this for next fall, when my daughter is old enough for it.

We have experimented with a number of things in the kitchen, but never liquid starch! Checking Walmart’s website right now to see if they have it in stock!
