The look for red lips in winter has been a deep red, the trend being a darker, deeper and more of a purple hue. Now with spring right around the corner it is time to update your red lips to a color that transitions you to spring. One that works with the new season’s hottest colors in fashion.

The snow is melting and the flowers are pushing up from the ground to make themselves known! Trends in Spring 2014 are taking their inspiration from fresh floral oranges, bright and bold. One of my favorite cosmetic companies is Melt Cosmetics. Their orange Matte Lipstick in the color Bang Bang is the perfect example of this!

If your style is more classic and less bold, there are many beautiful spring oranges for you to choose from. Instead of going with the high pigment matte lip, you can choose a more subtle orange lip gloss for a light touch of color. If you tend to wear neutral colors, you can think of your orange as a pop that will accent to your overall look as seen in this pic from JCrew.
