The Best Music Playlist for Road Tripping

By: Paul Temcio

When Jenny and I went on our road trip to the South, we had a lot of time in the car to listen to music. I am big into Reggae but Jenny doesn’t like it. She likes a lot of pop songs that I can do without. She listens to Alt Nation most of the time on Sirius, whereas I find 1st Wave is my “go-to”. We both like Lithium and XMU. Here are the songs from Sirius stations and our personal playlists that we agreed on listening to when we were driving. Check out the songs and artists and see if you think this is a cool playlist for a road trip.

  1. We don’t have a specific play list but do like certain types of music depending on the location. We don’t even know how to drive through the South with out the radio on a country station! 😉

  2. I have to say that I have not heard of many of the songs on your playlist. I can, however, totally relate to going on a road trip with someone and struggling to find music that you both enjoy!

  3. I’m familiar with the bands from 12 to 15, but most of them are new to me; if the others have a similar sound I might be able to like them but I’m afraid when it comes to music, for me, the world ended in the ’90’s 😀

  4. Music can be so interesting because of personal tastes. And road trips can be challenging for that reason. My partner’s musical tastes are much stronger than mine. We have plenty of overlap, so we do okay. It’s just a matter of having enough of it on hand to last the entire trip (I don’t have Sirius in my car! 🙂 ). Thanks for sharing!

  5. When I saw the title of this post, I was kind of like Ugh. Music is definitely a matter of personal taste. But when I saw your list, I was pleasantly surprised at how many songs and artists on there I actually enjoy! I like that mix of 90s with the alternative music of today.

  6. Glad you found a playlist that works for you. If I’m not listening to the news or the 80s channel, I listen to what I have on Amazon. But it’s not necessarily a ‘playlist’ for travel.
